A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the same domain name. For instance, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive messages from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux web hosting with us and you’d like to activate the catch-all option for a specific mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it’ll take literally only one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature right away, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a warning message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with several clicks of the mouse if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses under any domain hosted there. To enable the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox, you’ll need to click the button with the exact same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Disabling this functionality can be accomplished in the same manner and will not require more than a click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a particular domain, you will get a warning. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or replace anything automatically.
